The Waterloo Region District School Board is seeking qualified Educational Assistants to fill current vacancies. This role requires a focus on helping students achieve their best, particularly those with special needs, while adhering to the necessary physical demands tests. Ideal candidates will have relevant diplomas or degrees and a passion for supporting the diverse needs of learners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students with special needs in classroom settings
• Assist teachers in implementing educational plans
• Facilitate inclusion and participation in activities
• Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
• Document student progress and report to staff
Requirements:
• Educational Assistant Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum one year of experience with special needs children
• Ability to pass a Physical Demands test
• Valid certification in Behaviour Management Systems is preferred
• Autism Spectrum Disorder Training is an asset
