Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Compensation: $37–$42/hour
About the RoleOur client is seeking a Chemical Technician to support operations within an industrial petrochemical environment. This is a hands‑on role involving fieldwork, laboratory analysis, inventory management, and data reporting. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and autonomy in a refinery setting.
Key Responsibilities Laboratory & Field Work- Collect, prepare, and analyze chemical samples from industrial processes
- Perform daily laboratory testing and maintain high‑quality standards
- Conduct fieldwork including chemical transfers, drawdowns, and assisting with bulk truck deliveries
- Ensure safe and compliant handling of chemicals in all activities
- Manage chemical inventory, including tracking, ordering, and maintaining accurate stock levels
- Support economic justification of chemical programs and projects
- Document field observations, program performance, and improvement recommendations
- Input operational data into internal systems accurately and on time
- Prepare reports, presentations, and summaries using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office tools
- Communicate findings and updates to the operations and engineering teams.
- Post‑secondary education required
- Diploma or degree in Chemical Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 1–3 years of experience in an industrial environment such as:
- Refinery
- Manufacturing
- Petrochemical facility
- Industrial lab
- Experience with lab testing, chemical handling, and field technician tasks
- Proficient in laboratory techniques and sample analysis
- Comfortable working in industrial field environments
- Experienced with chemical transfers and bulk delivery processes
- Strong computer skills:
Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other data‑entry tools
- G‑Class driver’s license (will operate a company vehicle on‑site)
