You as a VDC Manager will:
Support a team that plans, coordinates, and implements VDC processes utilizing appropriate technology platforms through project life cycleDevelop and manage BIM Execution Plan and Project specific VDC implementation strategyUnderstand the owner BIM / Employers Information Requirements (EIR) and use a custom suite of software tools to prepare model-based deliverablesWork with Project Management team to develop BIM specific scope of work in tender documentsHave the freedom and creativity to develop project specific workflows that utilize BIM data for estimating, logistics, planning, scheduling (4D), coordination, field layout, and facilitates managementDevelop solutions with the project stakeholders by performing model-based design and constructability review, clash detection and visualizationOversee BIM coordination meetings with designers, trades, and suppliersWork closely with the field team using the intelligent building models to track the progress on site and contribute on the overall project scheduleFacilitate reality capture, utilizing LiDAR, Drones and 360 Photography for model integration, QA/QC, analysis, and visualizationCollaborate with IT to equip staff with proper hardware and software tools for projectsAssist and support the pre-construction team’s use of BIM/VDC for project pursuits, estimating and 4D planningHelp project teams navigate the expanding world of construction technology by teaching and mentoring them as they learn new software and workflowsParticipate in software testing, R&D initiatives and continue personal and professional growthBe a part of the internal VDC community to build on Ellis Don’s rich history of innovation as leaders in the construction industry and report to regional VDC LeadershipParticipate in the planning and execution of budget and schedule of VDC scope for the projectManage and Support VDC Team while encouraging professional development of coordinators within your teamOversee the progress of the Project BIM deliverables and report on key metricsPractice and promote safe work environment and Ellis Don Safety cultureIs this the right role for you?
University degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, M&E or related field7 or more years of professional experience with focus on BIM Management, Modeling, and related technologyRelevant experience in engineering and/or construction fields, including document production and M&E coordination worksExperience leading a VDC team in a project environmentAdvanced experience in Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks is required.Experience with Revizto, Assemble, Synchro Pro, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and BluebeamPassionate about the construction industry and innovationStrong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a collaborative environmentExcellent organization, time management skills and attention to detailBIM-related training or certifications considered an asset (Building Transformations, Building
