Position: Wastewater Operator at City of Waterloo
Location: Southwestern Ontario

Become a Wastewater Operator with the City of Waterloo, Ontario. This full-time role consists of critical maintenance and compliance tasks for wastewater systems while ensuring regulatory standards are met.

In this regular full-time position, you'll report to the Supervisor of Wastewater Operations. Candidates must have knowledge of wastewater collection and pumping standards. Your responsibilities include preventative maintenance, emergency responses, and providing operational training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance on wastewater collection and distribution systems

• Ensure compliance with MECP regulations and documentation

• Develop operational programs that satisfy customer needs

• Join on-duty rotation for Operator in Charge responsibilities

• Conduct functional training for team members

Requirements:

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent experience

• MECP Certified Operator for Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection

• 1-2 years experience in a related field

• Valid MTO ‘DZ’ class driver’s licence required

• Strong communication and customer service skills
