Salary Range: $85,600.00 - $
- Perform fluid flow analyses using ANSYS FLUENT
- Perform buoyancy analyses using Rhino/Orca
- Perform structural analyses using NX NASTRAN and/or Altair suite of FEA tools
- Perform fatigue analyses using Glyphworks/NCode
- Research new CAE areas, products and methodologies and implement them in GDLS-C common procedures
- Perform test data analyses and simulation validations
- Work in small temporary project teams with other engineers and provide an ongoing CAE support
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers
- Perform advanced computer simulations of military vehicles and subsystems
- Conduct research of new simulation techniques applicable to GDLS-C products
- Perform vehicle mobility studies
- Perform structural analysis
- Create advanced controls system models to evaluate various controls algorithms and strategies for automotive systems
- Interact with design teams and provide efficient and timely simulation support to product development, drive design solutions based on simulation results
- Develop in-house software to solve dynamic problems using high level programming languages
- Write technical reports
- Provide support for R&D validation testing (i.e. prepare test plan/report, perform data reduction/analysis)
- Provide technical support and guidance, within field of expertise, to Design Engineers during design development, e.g. advising on structural design
- Support new product development with simulations and analyses
- University degree in Engineering
- 3 to 5 years of related experience in CAE field, preferably in automotive, defense or aerospace industry
- Knowledge of CAE software applications for FEA, CFD and fatigue analyses
- Knowledge of automotive subsystems
- Knowledge of stress analyses, mechanics, dynamics and mathematics
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to be agile, set priorities and multi-task under pressure
- Self-motivated and effective working in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to travel (10% Canadian, 5% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
- Advanced University degree
- Familiar with NX NASTRAN, Altair suite of FEA tools, ADAMS, MATLAB
- Experience with heavy off road vehicles engineering
- Experience dealing with defense design standards
- Professional Engineer (PEO) or eligible to become P.Eng.
