Engineering Technologist, Corridor Management
Reporting to the Supervisor, Transportation Engineering in the Transportation Services Division, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide excellent client service in response to inquiries;
- Lead the City-wide illumination (lighting) program;
- Review and comment on transportation studies, environmental assessments, road designs, etc.;
- Review and approve Municipal Consent and Permit (road occupancy, special event, etc.) submissions;
- Prepare and administer contracts and/or consulting assignments to implement the Transportation Master Plan to support road safety;
- Act as a Transportation Services representative on various internal and external committees, working groups, etc.;
- Preparation of Council reports/presentations related to transportation engineering-related matters;
- Perform and take on other duties and tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
- A post‑secondary diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, or related discipline;
- A minimum of four (4) years related experience;
- You will possess or be eligible for certification with Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) and/or Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO);
- Working knowledge of Ontario Traffic Manuals (OTM), Highway Traffic Act (HTA), Minimum Maintenance Standards (MMS), Ontario Traffic Council (OTC) School Crossing Guard Guide (SCGG), Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Geometric Design Guide (GDG) for Canadian Roads, Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) RP-8, and OTC Hostile Vehicle Mitigation Measures;
- Experience executing an illumination program, managing the right of way (municipal consents and permits – road occupancy, special events, etc.), reviewing plans, and conducting site inspections;
- Valid MTO ‘G’ class driver’s licence in good standing with access to reliable transportation for business use purposes is required to perform the job;
- Strong commitment to delivering quality customer service;

- A Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check satisfactory to the City;
- Proof of your current and valid certificate(s), licences and/or educational qualification, if applicable.
