Position: Transportation Engineering Technologist Role
Location: Southwestern Ontario

The City of Waterloo is seeking an Engineering Technologist specialized in Corridor Management to enhance client services and oversee significant lighting programs. Make a difference in road safety and infrastructure.

In this pivotal role under the Transportation Services Division, you will report to the Supervisor of Transportation Engineering. With a focus on illuminating city streets, you’ll review designs and studies, manage Municipal Consents, and prepare presentations for Council. Your expertise will be vital in advocating for safe transportation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the City’s lighting initiatives and programs

• Review and assess transportation studies and road designs

• Approve submissions for road occupancy and special events

• Prepare and manage contracts supporting the Transportation Master Plan

• Develop Council reports related to engineering matters

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or similar

• Four years of relevant experience required

• Certification in progress from OACETT or PEO preferred

• Knowledgeable in Ontario Traffic Manuals and standards

• Clean, valid 'G' driver’s license required
