Senior Electrical Engineer – Halifax, Nova Scotia (Relocation)
AECOM is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design and construction of infrastructure within the Buildings + Places business line.
This opportunity is based out of our Halifax, Nova Scotia office with hybrid work options available. Candidates from other Canadian locations are welcome to apply, and relocation support is available.
Work LocationHybrid – remote and on-site in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Major Responsibilities- Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost‑effective work by others
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
- Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of contract documents package
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
- Prepares technical specification sections
- Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
- Assists electrical engineering team with mentoring junior and intermediate engineering staff
- Assists team manager with prioritizing workload and projects for CADD and Revit production technicians and technologists
- Liaises with other discipline leads to meet client performance objectives in an optimized and value added manner
- Reliability Status clearance (minimum)
- Secret clearance (required for most projects)
- Must have lived in Canada for the past 5 years (Reliability) or 10 years (Secret)
- Clearances granted by the Contract Security Program (CSP), Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC)
Minimum Requirements
- A University Degree in Electrical Engineering plus six (6) years of relevant experience in electrical design for buildings, facilities and infrastructure, including power distribution, communications and lighting
- Engineering designation (P.Eng) required
- Must be able to obtain or hold valid security clearance of reliability and/or secret
- Obtaining clearance must be made in a reasonable amount of time to work on projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Solid verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills
- Experience in the electrical design of marine buildings, facilities and infrastructure such as jetties, wharfs and piers (asset but not mandatory)
- Experience in pile foundations and concrete decks
- Experience in saltwater construction

CompensationCAD 120,000 to CAD 140,000 annually, based on education, experience and work location.
