Operator in Charge: Wastewater Operations

Location: Southwestern Ontario

Become an Operator in Charge of Wastewater Operations with the City of Waterloo. This role includes both regular duties and emergency response, ensuring top-quality service.

The City of Waterloo offers a position focused on wastewater management at the Waterloo Service Centre. Applicants should possess a Grade 12 diploma, MECP certification, and experience within the wastewater field. Your responsibilities will include compliance with environmental regulations and providing essential operational training to strengthen the team’s effectiveness and responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute preventative maintenance for wastewater systems

• Oversee compliance with environmental regulations

• Participate in the after-hours Operator in Charge rotation

• Conduct training sessions for operational procedures

• Collaborate on maintenance programs to enhance infrastructure

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• MECP Certified Operator for Water Distribution

• 1-2 years of experience in a similar function

• Valid 'DZ' class driver’s license

• Commitment to quality service and team collaboration
