Internship: Plans Examination Student

Launch your career in architectural technology as a Plans Examination Intern. This full-time position from September to December 2026 is focused on building permit processes in-person.

In this role, you will work directly under the Manager of Plans Examination, assisting with various tasks including reviewing plans for compliance and helping maintain permit statistics. You will also shadow experienced building inspectors to gain practical insight into construction stages. Ideal for students returning to studies in early 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• Keep permit statistics current and accurate

• Collaborate on building permit plan reviews

• Shadow inspectors on site during construction

• Prepare detailed Auto Cad drawings when necessary

• Address customer inquiries and maintain tech documentation

Requirements:

• Some residential construction experience preferred

• Knowledge of Ontario Building Code an asset

• Competent in Microsoft Office and Auto Cad

• Currently enrolled in Architectural Technology Program

• Required to pass a Criminal Record Check
