Your Impact Starts Here
Are you ready to tackle some of the most complex and rewarding challenges in the industry? In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with brilliant minds and contribute to high-profile projects that are changing the landscape of our world.
WSP’s RPM team is one of the most established and exciting teams in Canada. The team consists of environmental technicians, project coordinators, project managers, technical experts, and qualified professionals. We have been providing contaminated site program management services to the worlds most technically focused companies for over 15 years. We consistently have backlog of 9 to 12 months and provide growth opportunities for our high performing team members.
We specialize in health and safety, Phase I/II ESAs, risk assessment and remediation. Our team takes on the biggest Canadian projects from coast to coast to coast. The projects range in type, size and complexity, and the successful candidate will be able to utilize the team strengths to manage a large amount of field work efficiently and effectively.
The Environmental Project Co‑ordinator will be supporting our project managers and key clients in the design and oversight of field work related to monitoring, investigating, and remediating contaminated sites impacted by hydrocarbons and the preparation of technical reports. If you are self‑motivated and can demonstrate strong time management and communication skills, we encourage you to apply to join our team and support our passion for environmental remediation, characterization, and reclamation, saving the planet one site at a time.
Your Impact
Model and reinforce safe work practices on every project, creating a positive and accountable field environment.
Draft and maintain health and safety plans and emergency response plans for field programs.
Build and manage schedules for field staff and subcontractors, tracking constraints, access, and daily changes.
Coordinate with municipalities, regulators, and site stakeholders to support permits, access, and reporting needs.
Conduct occasional field work (soil, groundwater, surface water, and vapour programs) and support remediation oversight.
Coach and train junior staff on core field and investigation practices (e.g., Phase I/II ESA support, drilling oversight, surveying, and groundwater sampling).
Collaborate across the national RPM team and local offices to share resources, lessons learned, and consistent delivery practices.
Promote WSP’s guiding principles through reliable follow‑through, clear communication, and respectful site/stakeholder interactions.
Provide day‑to‑day guidance to technicians to keep field programs on scope, on schedule, and documented properly.
The Skills That Set You Apart
A university degree or above in environmental science, engineering, or related field.
Proven field experience in contaminated site assessment (e.g., Phase II ESAs), including soil, groundwater, surface water, and vapour sampling/monitoring.
Minimum of 5 years of related experience in an engineering consulting environment.
Ability to interpret site data and recommend next steps, supporting technical memos/reports and coordination with regulators/municipalities as needed.
Willingness to grow your career within the RPM team.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse teams and with multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation (or eligibility to obtain) is preferred.
