University of Waterloo Campus Planner Position

Location: Southwestern Ontario

Drive major campus planning projects at the University of Waterloo. This full-time role demands expertise in urban planning, zoning, and environmental compliance.

As the Campus Planner, your primary focus will be on leading projects that ensure sustainable and responsible campus growth. You will serve as a liaison with municipal authorities, coordinate planning initiatives, and provide expert guidance on land use policies to align with institutional goals. Your strategic input will shape the future development of university properties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and monitoring of the Campus Plan

• Prepare feasibility studies and regulatory analyses

• Manage stakeholder engagement and project timelines

• Review development proposals for compliance with campus standards

• Facilitate communication among project teams and external consultants

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in urban or environmental planning

• 5–10 years of relevant planning experience

• Strong knowledge of land use and sustainability practices

• Excellent communication and analytical abilities

• Familiarity with GIS mapping technologies
