Wage $110,000 to $130,000 per year (to be negotiated)

Job Duties Lead process optimisation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant performance and stability
Analyse operational and production data to improve efficiency, cost performance and product quality
Design, develop and optimize manufacturing systems, including automation, robotics and material flows
Conduct time studies, work simplification programs and production system improvements
Plan plant layouts, facilities and integrated manufacturing systems
Evaluate industrial facilities and identify improvement opportunities, including waste reduction and resource optimization
Establish performance standards and conduct performance reviews
Develop maintenance standards, preventive maintenance programs and reliability initiatives
Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams, including diagnostic testing and corrective adjustments
Support process design, equipment upgrades, commissioning and capital (CAPEX) projects from feasibility through execution
Support CAPEX planning, budgeting, cost control and production cost analysis
Participate in vendor and contractor selection, negotiations and procurement activities
Coordinate process monitoring, testing, laboratory activities and quality control programs
Develop and implement inventory optimization programs and resource utilization strategies
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory standards, including liaison with government agencies
Conduct safety studies and implement programs to prevent hazards, injuries and operational risks
Support industrial health and safety initiatives and ISO / quality standards
Conduct technical documentation, reporting and administrative tasks
Requirements Education Bachelor ’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline
Experience
Minimum 5+ years (10 preferred) in industrial or process engineering within heavy industry
Experience in continuous manufacturing environments (pulp & paper or mineral processing preferred)
Experience in production, operations and process improvement
Experience with capital projects (CAPEX), including feasibility studies and execution
Experience in project management across full project lifecycle
Experience with maintenance, reliability and preventive maintenance practices
Experience with quality assurance, laboratory testing and process validation
Experience working in a unionized industrial environment
Experience with procurement, contractor/vendor management and negotiations
Experience evaluating work environments and implementing safety improvements
International work experience considered an asset
Skills
Strong knowledge of mineral and industrial processing operations
Expertise in process optimisation, troubleshooting and production systems
Knowledge of industrial equipment, automation and control systems
Strong analytical, cost analysis and problem-solving skills
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and reliability engineering
Knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards
Proficiency with:
ERP systems (SAP preferred)
AutoCAD / CAD toolsMS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Project management software
Strong technical writing and documentation skills
