Join SpaceX's dynamic Starfall team as a Mechanical Design Engineer. Play a vital role in developing advanced re-entry capsules that ensure rapid global mobility within an innovative environment.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer on the Starfall project, you will take ownership of the design for structures, fluid systems, and components. Your analytical skills will shine as you utilize CAD and FEA software to meet rigorous internal and customer specifications. Collaborate closely with senior leadership and partners, driving hardware success from inception through re-use across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own primary and secondary structures for the Starfall Cargo Vehicle
• Perform hand calculations and FEA for design validation
• Lead design reviews and ensure hardware qualifications
• Act as a liaison with suppliers and internal teams
• Manage delivery timelines from design to launch and re-use
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline
• 1+ years CAD or FEA experience
• 1+ years of hands-on hardware experience
• Strong problem-solving skills in a team environment
• Willingness to obtain necessary security clearance
