As a critical member of Google’s Platforms and Devices team, this mid-level role emphasizes mechanical design, optical integration, and manufacturing. You will steer products from initial prototypes to high-volume production, ensuring quality and performance standards align with user expectations. This position requires strong foundational skills in product design and the ability to manage suppliers effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design optical modules and sensors for product enclosures

• Review and prepare technical drawings for components

• Optimize custom component design for production processes

• Create evaluation plans to assess product reliability and function

• Manage partnerships for product design through to production

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or relevant experience

• Minimum 5 years in consumer product design and tools

• Skilled in a CAD application for mechanical design

• Experienced with JDM partnerships in hardware production

• Knowledgeable in product validation and improvement processes
