Our client is seeking a Control Technician to support automation systems, PLCs, and equipment reliability within a high-volume industrial environment. If you have hands-on controls experience and enjoy troubleshooting, this could be a great next step in your career.

The Control Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining PLCs, HMIs, motion systems, robotics, and vision equipment.
The ideal candidate brings experience across multiple PLC platforms, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and the flexibility to support rotating shifts and overtime as needed. An Electrical Engineering Degree or Diploma is considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities PLC & Control Systems- Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs across multiple platforms.
- Support legacy and modern control systems using vendor-specific software tools.
- Maintain PLC-to-equipment communication, system backups, and change management processes.
- Maintain and support HMI and SCADA applications.
- Diagnose interface issues between HMIs and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and tune VFDs, servo systems, and drive technologies.
- Ensure proper feedback, communication, and system performance.
- Support machine vision systems including calibration, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain system communication and triggering functions.
- Troubleshoot sensors, control loops, and safety systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical teams on equipment and cycle performance issues.
- Partner with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues.
- Contribute to automation upgrades, process improvements, and reliability initiatives.
- Support robotic systems and integration points as required.
- Experience with industrial PLC platforms (multi-vendor exposure preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ether Net/IP, PROFIBUS, PROFINET, EtherCAT).
- Understanding of machine safety systems and industrial sensors.
- Robotics integration experience is considered an asset.
- 2–3 years in automation, controls maintenance, or manufacturing support roles.
- Electrical Engineering Degree or Diploma preferred.
- Rotating shifts across days, afternoons, and nights.
- Overtime may be required.
- Hands-on role in a fast-paced industrial setting.
