Optical Test Engineer - Photonics Scientist

Location: Southwestern Ontario

Become a leading Photonics Scientist at Quantum Core Inc. as you design state-of-the-art detectors based on semiconductor metasurfaces. This role emphasizes optical characterization and hands-on experimental setup development.

As a full-time Optical Test Engineer, your primary focus will be on characterizing novel single-photon detectors. You will create optical and electrical setups to benchmark performance metrics while collaborating closely with engineers and researchers. Your ability to execute and automate measurement protocols will be essential in driving the performance of groundbreaking quantum technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement optical/electrical setups for testing detectors

• Develop measurement protocols for various environmental conditions

• Automate measurement and data logging using Python

• Analyze data to extract key performance metrics

• Provide recommendations for design optimizations

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in physics or related field;
PhD is a plus

• 3+ years experience with optical setups

• Practical knowledge of single-photon detector technologies

• Expertise in time-resolved measurement techniques

• Strong data analysis and documentation skills
