Location:Initial Placement – Paris Customer Service Office
Minimum Qualifications:- Post-secondary diploma in Urban Design, Urban and Regional Planning or related field.
- Two (2) years relevant work experience, in a planning, building and/or engineering related setting.
- Excellent customer service, organizational, report writing, communication, presentation, conflict resolution skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of zoning by-laws, municipal planning processes, planning principles and applicable legislation (including Planning Act, Provincial Planning Statement and Guidelines).
- Demonstrated tact and diplomacy skills and the ability to exercise discretion and judgment when handling confidential information.
- Proficient in Adobe Reader and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
- Advanced time management and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, including verbal and written.
- Demonstrated safe work practices.
- Valid G driver’s license and/or the ability to travel for site visits and between County offices and facilities as required.
- Experience working within a Planning Division in a municipal setting.
- Membership, or candidate membership, in Ontario Professional Planning Institute (OPPI) and/or Canadian Association of Certified Planning Technicians (CACPT).
- Experience utilizing City View software or similar electronic planning/ building permit processing software.
- Provide technical interpretation, advice, and recommendation for all planning applications including consent, minor variances, zoning amendments, site plan control and related agreements.
- To provide technical advice and information on review, development and implementation of new guidelines, policies, regulations and standards which affect the Provincial and County planning program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
$68,760 - $80,426 (Grade
5) 35 hours per week
