Position: Analytical Analyst (13-month contract)
Location: Strathroy

Position Summary

Work Schedule:

Monday‑Friday 8 AM‑4:30 PM; will transition to continental shift in the future
13‑month contract
This position is 100% on‑site in Strathroy, Ontario.

The Role
  • Have detailed knowledge and be able to conduct Finished Product QC release testing as required by the role with daily supervision as required using techniques such as Balances, pH meter, UV, Karl Fisher, FT‑IR, TLC, Dissolution, HPLC (to include degradation analysis), Coulometric Karl Fisher, including basic trouble shooting.
  • Responsible for the testing of raw materials, finished products and stability samples by instrumental and wet chemistry methods described in compendia references or in‑house methods.
  • Prepare solvents and reagents, as required.
  • Calibrate and maintain instruments according to relevant SOPs.
  • Maintain adequate levels of laboratory supplies. Maintain laboratory environment in a safe and clean manner such as laboratory/equipment cleaning, glassware washing, storing of supplies, etc.
  • Train, advise and assist laboratory personnel as required (e.g. methods, procedures, tests, etc.).
  • Always comply with SOPs and GMPs. Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) regulations, demonstrating leadership in safety practices and resolving safety‑related issues.
  • Perform other duties as required.
The Candidate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Chemistry or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience as a lab analyst preferred. Knowledge of laboratory techniques, terminology, equipment, and materials.
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical and/or GMP facility.
  • This position does not qualify for sponsorship.
  • Candidates with non‑Canadian credentials must provide an evaluation confirming the Canadian equivalency of the credentials as determined by the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada (ACESC) such as WES.
  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. Use of manual dexterity is required. The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

    Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. This role is required to be clean shaven to wear a respirator at times, which is deemed mandatory to meet Health & Safety requirements.
Pay

The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary within this range [49,000 – 60,000], and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Catalyst is a global employer, and this salary range does not reflect positions that work in other countries.
