Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and need a PVSC are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible: PVSCs in the City of London currently take approx. 3 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.

WHAT

WE'RE OFFERING:
  • Pay – Starting rate for this role is $27.14 per hour (Level 1 – Direct Service), with a wage differential, based on regulation ($30.01 per hour for Level 1 – Direct Service, Regulated):
    • Successful candidates registered with one of the designated professional colleges (e.g., OCSWSSW, CNO, COTO, CRPO, CPSO, or CPO) receive the wage differential for regulation.
    • Successful external applicants start at Level 1, with grid progression based on seniority up to Level 8 ($34.41 per hour for non‑regulated, and $37.26 per hour for regulated).
    • Internal applicants: grid level placement as per the Collective Agreement.
  • Schedule
    :
    • Full‑Time

      Contract:

      70 hours bi‑weekly; rotating days, afternoons & evenings, including weekends.
    • Full‑Time Permanent: 70 hours bi‑weekly; rotating days, afternoons & evenings including weekends.

      9% in lieu of benefits.

      After a 90‑day waiting period, enrolled in extended healthcare benefits.

HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:

Designated Primary Worker for assigned caseload:

  • Ensure client’s electronic record and paper file is complete and up‑to‑date.
  • Ensure goals are being worked toward and program expectations are being met.
  • Provide client updates at Team Meetings.
  • Create Team Approaches and/or Contract of Residency.

In addition to the responsibilities of the Primary Worker, Addiction and Mental Health Workers will fulfill the following with all residents of RTF:

  • Follow through with primary responsibilities when a client’s Primary Worker is unavailable.
  • Assess client’s strengths, abilities, needs and preferences.
  • Build on client’s strengths, abilities and resources.
  • Assess social and environmental factors impacting the client.
  • Assist clients to develop and coordinate an Individual Rehabilitation Plan (IRP) based on their strengths, abilities, needs and preferences.
  • Review and revise IRP with client every four‑six weeks, or more frequently if deemed necessary.
  • Motivate and support the client to work towards achievement of their IRP goals.
  • Include and encourage clients’ natural supports (e.g., family, significant friends) in the IRP, clarifying the roles each plays toward clients’ rehabilitation.
  • Regularly solicit feedback from the client and relevant community supports regarding participant’s mental health or addiction and progress towards his/her goals.
  • Maintain open communication with the client’s professional and natural supports regarding client’s rehabilitation.
  • Complete frequent Mental Health Status Exams within the first week of the client’s admission, and subsequently at a minimum interval of once per month.
  • Create or update client Crisis Plans.
  • Medication monitoring and education.
