Your Mission:As the Health and Safety Specialist, you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health and safety programs across all Ontario facilities and project sites. You will provide strategic guidance, operational support and expert oversight to ensure a proactive, compliant and high‑performing safety culture that never compromises the well‑being of employees, contractors or partners.
A key part of your role includes partnering closely with site leaders and collaborating and reporting to the Director, Health and Safety to ensure consistent program execution, regulatory compliance and strong alignment with organisational goals. You will be part of a broader team of Health and Safety Specialists.
Here’s what an ordinary day of work might look like:- Supporting the rollout and practical implementation of company‑wide health and safety goals, ensuring clear communication and consistent adoption across Ontario facilities.
- Providing day‑to‑day guidance, coaching and mentorship to the Health & Safety Specialist and site teams to support safe operations and consistent program execution.
- Monitoring health and safety performance using KPIs, identifying trends and supporting sites in developing action plans to address performance gaps.
- Conducting or supporting internal audits, reviewing documentation and ensuring all requirements of the HS Management System are being met.
- Advising site leaders and employees on health and safety regulations, expectations and best practices, ensuring compliance with WSIB, OHSA, MOL and other regulatory bodies.
- Leading or supporting incident investigations, identifying root causes, monitoring corrective actions and sharing lessons learned across sites.
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams and external partners—contractors, suppliers, regulators—to maintain safe, compliant and coordinated site operations.
- Maintaining our HSMS, updating health and safety policies, procedures, training materials and records to align with evolving legislation and operational needs.
- Supporting the development, refinement and implementation of emergency response plans across sites, and coordinating with local First Responders when required.
- Preparing monthly and quarterly safety reports, contributing insights for Senior Leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Traveling to Ontario facilities (25–30%) to provide on‑site support, conduct audits, lead meetings and build strong relationships with site teams.

This job is for you if you:- Hold a degree, diploma or designation in a related field (e.g. CRSP, CRST; NCSO/HSO considered an asset).
- Bring a minimum of 5 years of ‘boots on the ground’ experience in industrial manufacturing or a related industry.
- Have extensive experience working with regulatory bodies and interpreting externally mandated regulations.
- Possess strong knowledge of provincial health and safety legislation (WSIB, OHSA, MOL), with additional provincial knowledge considered an asset.
- Have experience with Prime Contractor or CSO responsibilities (asset).
- Demonstrate strong computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Word and Excel and familiarity with HSMS software.
- Communicate clearly and confidently, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of an organisation.
- Maintain confidentiality, demonstrate strong attention to detail and uphold high professional standards.
- Are a motivated self‑starter who works effectively as part of a team, thinks critically and solves problems creatively.
- Excel at prioritising tasks, managing competing deadlines and supporting multiple sites.
- Are adaptable, collaborative and committed to continuous improvement in safety culture and practices.
- Are available to travel between Ontario facilities as needed.
- Hold a valid Driver’s Licence.
- Are fluent in English;
French is an asset.
- Annual Salary – range of $74,800.00‑$93,500 CAD
