Senior Product Engineer – IoT; Raspberry Pi & Consumer Platform

Overview

We are seeking a lead engineering partner to build a high-stakes, real-time automation and consumer platform. The project involves a three-sided ecosystem: a Raspberry Pi-based edge layer deployed at distributed sites, a scalable cloud backend that ingests third-party data, and a dual-user mobile/web application suite.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end architecture of a system that:

• Synchronizes on-site hardware signals with external data feeds.
• Triggers automated actions at the edge based on real-time logic.
• Updates consumer clients with low-latency data visualizations.
• Produces automated, verifiable performance reporting for external partners.

• Edge (Raspberry Pi): Develop a resilient Linux-based service for Raspberry Pi that interfaces with on-site equipment, manages local media/logic, and maintains a secure, offline-first cloud connection.
• Cloud: Design and implement backend services for high-frequency data ingestion, role-based access, and real-time messaging (Pub/Sub) across a growing fleet of devices.
• Mobile/Web: Deliver cross-platform mobile (iOS/Android) and web apps for two distinct user groups, featuring real-time state synchronization and location-aware workflows.
• Reporting Automation: Implement a scheduled engine for aggregating activity logs and generating/distributing branded PDF reports to external stakeholders.

• IoT/Edge: Proven experience shipping production software on Raspberry Pi (service supervision, local caching, and device telemetry).
• Full-Stack: Strong backend engineering (Node.js/Type Script or Python), Postgre
  
  SQL, and cross-platform mobile (Flutter or React Native).
• Real-Time: Expertise in real-time data synchronization and messaging patterns (MQTT, Web Sockets, or SSE).
• Systems: Experience interfacing with external hardware protocols and managing media assets at scale.
• Reporting: Experience building automated document generation (PDF) and email delivery pipelines.
