Utilismart provides information needed to make informed business decisions about electricity, water, and gas in the Smart Grid marketplace.
SummaryUtilismart Corporation is looking for a skilled Database Administrator, reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, to protect and safeguard internal data. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that Utilismart?s databases support the growth of its digital platform, including planning development and long‑term database roadmaps.
Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and implement data administration policies, standards, and models, including leading and coordinating teams of data administrators during development phases.
- Research and document critical data requirements, collection policies, access rules, and security protocols.
- Develop procedures for network and/or Internet database access, usage, backup, and recovery.
- Maintain, patch, and secure databases for optimal performance.
- Calculate optimum values for database parameters to ensure database health and stability.
- Design and implement utilities for monitoring database health.
- Write scripts for stored procedures and triggers.
- Conduct research and provide advice to other information systems professionals regarding data collection, availability, security, and suitability.
- Maintain user manuals and ?how-to? materials.
- Provide Tier I and Tier II support to internal staff.
- Support Utilismart?s ISO certification obligations by maintaining required ISMS documentation.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in computer science or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience working with SQL, Oracle databases, Solaris operating system, and database design.
- Industry‑recognized certifications relevant to database administration.
- Commitment to staying current with new technology and best practices through workshops, training, and professional publications.
