Position: University of Waterloo Electronics Technician Role
Location: southwestern ontario

As a Lab Electronics Technician at the University of Waterloo, you will empower researchers in the Institute for Quantum Computing with hands-on technical support. This full-time position focuses on rapid prototype fabrication and lab equipment maintenance.
You will be an essential part of the Technology Services team, guiding researchers in effective tool usage and supporting the assembly and testing of prototype electronics. Work closely with the Senior Electronics Technician to enhance the lab’s capabilities and foster innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist researchers with safe operation of lab tools

• Build and package custom enclosures for electronics

• Perform testing and troubleshooting of digital and analog devices

• Update and document lab procedures for operational efficiency

• Maintain safety standards and manage lab inventory
Requirements:

• 2-year diploma in Electronics Engineering or relevant field

• Minimum 1 year experience working with electronics

• Knowledge of circuit fundamentals and measurement tools

• Strong analytical skills for effective problem resolution

• Proficient in Microsoft Office for operational tasks
