The opportunityThe Manager, Technology Solutions Vendor Management is accountable for oversight, governance, planning, and continuous improvement of the TS vendor management process. The Manager is a key contributor to maintaining strong relationships with these critical vendors for delivering business growth particular, the Manager will be expected to closely engage with our strategic vendors to support senior technology leadership and enterprise governance functions while ensuring long-term value from these partnerships.
Whatto Expect
- Partner with TS Leaders, Enterprise Procurement (EP), Risk Management and TS Security
- Identify opportunities to streamline the TS vendor landscape and realize expense savings
- Provide support for any TS OPEX for year-end processes related to vendors
- Partner with Vendor Risk/EP to refine TS vendor management lifecycle to meet regulatory requirements
- Partner with TS Leaders, EP, Vendors, Legal and TS Business Management to ensure contracts are completed in alignment with Definity policies, strategy and funding
- Oversee contract approval process, ensuring that all new deals and renewals are reviewed prior to deadlines
- Point of contact, with Enterprise Procurement, escalating blockers back to TS Leaders
- Coordinate and facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews (Q ) with Tier 1 and Tier 2 vendors
- With vendor risk, manage regulatory compliance for Tier 1 and Tier 2 vendors i.e. OSFI – B10 mandates. Including Governance Meetings, Exit Plans, Runbooks, Code
- Collaborate on Tier 1 and 2 vendors with TS Business Management
- This role is an individual contributor role
- Promotes Definity’s Code of Business Conduct and values, and models behaviors that align to these principles
- University degree or college diploma in business administration, information systems, supply chain management or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in vendor management or IT procurement
- Experience in applying vendor management principles in IT domains
- Deep, practical understanding of contract lifecycle management
- Experience in Canadian Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance is considered an asset
- Experience engaging and negotiating with senior vendor partners and leaders
- Demonstrated outcomes articulating and delivering on Vendor Management strategies
- First‑hand experience leading, developing and implementing vendor management practices
- Experience in supporting business and technology teams in RFPs and RFIs
