Job SummaryThe Control Center Operations Technician will monitor and troubleshoot the systems installed across numerous divisions from the Remote Monitoring Center based in Surrey BC. This 24/7 role requires strong technical, analytical and troubleshooting skills and supports the Control Tower 24/7 operations.
Responsibilities- Monitor status and material flow through shops, identify risks/outliers and report.
- Assist in driving resolution to maximize output based on Controller direction.
- Coordinate building sequencing and material flow.
- Remote monitor deployed units and respond to system alarms.
- Analyze and identify cause of system issues and troubleshoot remotely.
- Support Electrical, Mechanical and Chemical subsystems of power generation.
- Repair or maintain truck scales and camera systems.
- Maintain logs and escalation of complex issues to supervisors.
- Communicate with maintenance on repairs and route progress updates.
- Schedule and re‑route operations per guidelines.
- Manage truck repair scheduling and driver arrangements.
- Update route systems to reflect changes in customers or service requirements daily.
- Engage in root cause analysis and resolution planning on material issues.
- 2-5 years of Technician experience with troubleshooting Electrical and/or Computer Systems.
- Prior remote monitoring and troubleshooting experience (preferred).
- Technical background or electrician experience.
- Demonstrated technical writing skills.
- Highly motivated, able to work independently in a high‑pressure environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Ability to multi‑task and shift priorities as necessary.
- Experience with data entry and report generation.
- Customer service experience and professionalism.
- Advanced computer capabilities.
- Dispatch experience an asset.
- Knowledge of waste management or transportation industry an asset.
- Supervisory experience an asset.
- Salary – $52,000.
- Onsite – Waterloo.
