Strategic Buyer

Reporting to the Senior Director, you will:

• Develop and execute purchasing and sourcing strategies that improve price competitiveness, product availability, quality, and sustainability across the network.
• Lead the full procurement lifecycle, including supplier sourcing, contract negotiation, purchasing execution, and performance management.
• Support partner networks to ensure they understand market trends and support them in their day-to-day procurement activities.
• Monitor agricultural commodity markets, supplier trends, and economic conditions to guide purchasing decisions and strategic planning.
• Establish, negotiate, and manage strategic supplier partnerships while ensuring strong collaboration and accountability.
• Oversee inventory positioning and purchasing alignment with supply-and-demand forecasts.
• Manage contracts with foreign-exchange and commodity-market exposure while developing risk‑mitigation and pricing strategies.
• Build and maintain pricing models while advising on market conditions during bullish and bearish cycles.
• Collaborate closely with logistics, operations, and internal stakeholders to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
• Track supplier performance through KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support organizational decision‑making with procurement expertise and market intelligence.
• Mentor and support junior procurement team members while promoting best practices.
• Ensure procurement activities remain compliant with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of procurement experience within agriculture or agricultural products.
• Strong knowledge of sourcing strategy, supplier management, commodity purchasing, and procurement best practices.
• Experience managing contracts with commodity, futures, and foreign exchange exposure.
• Proven negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills, paired with strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, market‑driven environment.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross‑functionally across departments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and procurement‑related systems.
