Permanent Full-Time Maintenance Coordinator
Permanent Full-Time position in the West District.
Hourly Rate - $26.36 - $31.24
40 hours a week

The Maintenance Coordinator provides general maintenance service to Karis Disability Services properties. They will solve minor issues that arise with plumbing, refrigeration, electrical, heating, air conditioning, general interior and exterior building repairs. The Maintenance Coordinator will assess major repairs and they will work with the Community Facilities Specialist to arrange for external contractors as needed. They will interact with management, employees, people using services, and families and will foster a positive environment.
The Maintenance Coordinator will respect and uphold the Values, Vision and Mission of Karis Disability Services, demonstrating the highest standards of courtesy and respect in their dealings with other employees, people using services, and both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Duties would include:
- Conduct regular site visits to Karis properties to identify and prioritize maintenance issues and ensure compliance with local by‑laws.
- Use tools and equipment provided to perform minor repairs and maintenance.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance relating to plumbing, appliances, heating and air conditioning, flooring, carpeting, and painted surfaces.
- Seek external vendors in consultation with supervisor when required for more significant repairs.
- Provide maintenance services to external structures at the location, including parking lot, green spaces, and decks.
- Perform upkeep and repair inside buildings including painting, and drywall repair.
- Communicate and meet with vendors onsite when external contractor performing repairs (e.g., plumber) or regular contract work (e.g., lawn maintenance, snow removal etc.)
- Review and suggest additions to lists of internal facility needs that may be eligible for grants relating to building/property and report to supervisor.
- Prepare work schedule and ensure coverage according to approved budget.
- Maintain documentation of repair services.
Requirements:
- 2 years of related experience
- Full G Driver’s License
- Ladder/Heights training
- Knowledge of building/workplace safety requirements
- Property Maintenance skills including: painting, general plumbing, drywall
- Frequent travel and reliable vehicle required
Preferred:
- College diploma in related field
This position requires the ability to work varied hours with occasional evenings, the use of tools and working in confined spaces or ase note that some locations within the District support persons who may smoke and/or vape regularly.
