Description:

Reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager, as a member of the Environmental Services team, you will assist in the oversight of the Janitorial program in London and St. Thomas, and provide proper cleaning and sanitation of assigned building(s). In collaboration with our interdisciplinary teams, you will work within programs supporting residents who are experiencing mental health concerns and/or substance use and who requires support to maintain housing stability.

You will prioritize stewarding resources to ensure high standards of cleaning quality while maintaining strong working relationships with program staff and tenants alike.

• Conduct regular audits of building cleanliness, documenting findings and ensuring corrective actions are taken
• Perform cleaning duties in assigned buildings or as backup when staffing gaps occur
• Coordinate with the Regional Facilities Manager and Environmental Services Supervisor on supply needs, staffing issues, and maintenance concerns
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and PPE
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, incident reports, and team performance
• Providing mentorship & supervision support to tenant employees, if applicable

• Maintaining cleanliness of primary building and ensuring designated building areas are clean and stocked with supplies by performing tasks such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, and restrooms
• Keeping supply rooms stocked and well–maintained
• Working cooperatively with other staff members

• 3+ years of janitorial or custodial experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning practices, tools, and products as well as familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Familiarity and comfort being around individuals with a mental health diagnosis and/or addiction is beneficial
• Positive work ethic, integrity and excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively with other staff members
• Focus to follow proper safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment
