Location: Southwestern Ontario

The Maintenance Planner is a crucial role to the success within the Maintenance department. Working closely with the Maintenance Manager and Operations team, the successful candidate will be expected to plan and schedule routine and shutdown/planned outage maintenance tasks for plant and building equipment. The candidate will also actively support plant projects, emergency equipment failures and other maintenance activities to support the Maintenance Manager.

Key Activities:

Assess equipment needs prior to scheduled shutdowns and develop a plan accordingly.

  • GHANT Chart development for scheduled work timelines
  • Schedule internal and external labor to meet the required work to be completed
  • Assign, distribute, and collect completed work orders from internal and external labor for shutdowns
  • Follow up with work that is completed and identify the duration the work took to be completed
  • Provide support to internal and external labor during scheduled shutdowns
  • Ensure H&S compliance with all organized work
  • The maintenance planner is the primary owner of the CMMS.
  • Subject matter expert for the implementation of the CMMS
  • Generate and distribute work orders for routine maintenance activities
  • Input relevant information into CMMS
  • Analyze and communicate work order progress/status to stakeholders
  • Generate reports for maintenance KPI’s
  • Plan and schedule all the following PM’s for the facility:
  • HVAC seasonal startup, cleaning, and shut down;
  • Compressors, including air dryers
  • Generators
  • Boilers
  • Coordinate spare parts inventory
  • Coordinate scheduled parts for routine maintenance
  • Creation and maintenance of critical work instructions and associated checklists for the department
  • Support H&S Program for all work coordinated.
  • Initiate the purchasing process for maintenance department

Minimum Qualifications (Education)

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Technology, or other relevant education and/or maintenance work experience would be an asset
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Ability to operate a forklift considered an asset.
  • 2D CAD Design preferred.
  • Knowledge of equipment repair and maintenance tasks. Understanding of tools and parts.

Previous Experience Required

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • 2-3 years of Maintenance scheduling

Skills, Abilities & Equipment Operated:

  • Strong knowledge of CMMS.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiar with preventive and predictive maintenance principles
