Pharmaceutical Packaging Operator
Position Summary
Work Schedule: 12 hour rotating continental shifts (Days and Nights)
This position is 100% on-site at the Strathroy site.
This position is located in Strathroy, Ontario, one of two sites located in Canada offering softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries. We have a broad range of integrated formulation, manufacturing, analytical and packaging services to offer full-service turnkey solutions.
Reporting to the Department Supervisor, the Pharmaceutical Packaging Operator is responsible for various duties on the packaging line. Duties include material handling, set up, operation and sanitation of packaging line equipment in addition to performing quality checks and product inspection and testing.
The Role
Communicate with operator from previous shift - during shift change, regarding necessary facts and current events related to the daily operation
Input’s data into the specified software, verify and prints the required labels/forms;
Maintains the equipment used and keep the working areas clean and always organized
Involved in a variety of packaging activities including bottling, cartoning and blistering.
Completes in-process inspection e.g., visual verification of lot numbers or vacuum leak test, and notifies Area Supervisor and/or QA of any product that fails to meet specifications
Transfers capsules onto packaging line and packages as per product documentation and assembles and labels shippers in accordance with product documentation
Completes MBPR, logbooks and verifies pack instructions as required and participates in inspection audits and process investigations as required.
Responsible for equipment, room cleaning and documentation and performing and complete Cleaning Logs for Area and equipment
Perform other duties as assigned
The Candidate
High School Diploma, GED/CAEC and/or educational credential assessment (ECA) is required.
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. (cGMP or regulated work facility)
Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
Process a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy
Works cooperatively in teams, communicates clearly, and has effective listening skills
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (both verbal and written)
Demonstrates trustworthiness by being honest, dependable, and reliable

Candidates with non-Canadian credentials must provide an evaluation confirming the Canadian equivalency of the credentials as determined by the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada (ACESC) such as WES.
The employee's role frequently involves sitting and utilizing hands and fingers for tasks such as handling, feeling, and keyboard manipulation, necessitating manual dexterity.
Occasionally, the position requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, alongside close vision capabilities and potential exposure to chemicals.
Pay:
The start hourly rate for this position is $20.65/Hr. The trained hourly rate for this position is $24.35/Hr. Catalent is a global employer, and this compensation does not reflect positions that work in other countries.
