Become a vital part of Age Care as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), delivering exceptional nursing care to residents. This role involves collaboration with the healthcare team in a supportive environment.
As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will ensure quality care in accordance with nursing practices while guiding Personal Support Workers. Your collaboration with Registered Nurses will enhance unit policies, while liaising with physicians and the healthcare team ensures residents receive comprehensive support. You will actively participate in shift reports, keeping everyone informed about resident changes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide professional nursing care following established protocols
• Direct Personal Support Workers in daily care activities
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to meet resident needs
• Notify physicians of significant resident status changes
• Participate in the formulation of unit policies and procedures
Requirements:
• Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Background in geriatric or rehabilitation nursing
• Knowledge of relevant health Acts and regulations
• Experience in nursing home environments preferred
• Commitment to creating a supportive resident community
