Salary Range: $39.96 - $40.37 /hour
St. Joseph's Hospital is a unique ambulatory hospital specializing in minimally invasive same‑day and short‑stay inpatient surgery. 21,000 surgeries are performed annually, with most patients going home the same day. Our surgical programs include the Ivey Eye Institute, St. Joseph's Breast Care Program, the Roth McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre, St. Joseph's Urology Centre, Otolaryngology, gynecological surgery, dental and general surgery.
The operating room complex comprises 10 operating rooms and a lithotripsy suite.
Current schedules include primarily 8‑hour days and evening shifts, with on‑call coverage expectations for nights and weekends on a rotational basis. Schedules are subject to change.
Essential Qualifications
Valid registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Valid CPR certificate
Minimum 2 years recent experience in the Operating Room and/or successful completion of the Operating Room course within the last 2 years
Successful completion of a nursing competency test
Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
Proficiency and experience in pharmacology and medication administration
Excellent decision making, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
Demonstrated effective collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills as part of an interdisciplinary team
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
A commitment to professional development
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in French would be an asset
Teaching and Research
St. Joseph's Health Care London, through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College, is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee, you will be expected to engage in role‑related teaching and research activities in addition to your clinical duties.
Immunization Requirements
Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID‑19 and influenza.
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing.
