Multi‑Unit Float Line Registered Nurse, Home Base Inpatient

DescriptionThe Registered Nurse promotes and restores patients’ health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with patients, physicians, and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members. This position is available as soon as possible and will follow a continental schedule until July 19, 2026, changing to DDNN Float Line as of July 20, 2026.
Some weekends and holidays are required.
- Ability to organize, problem solve, critical thinking and decision making.
- Demonstrated application of role in Code situations (ex. Code Blue).
- Communicates with patients, families, physicians, staff, and community partners.
- Observes and records patient behavior. Evaluates patient outcomes.
- Competent operation of medical equipment.
- Performs diagnostic tests within scope of practice.
- Safely administers medications and treatments.
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Diploma/Degree from a recognised college/university, BScN preferred.
- Two years related nursing experience working in acute care setting and emergency department required, with a competency level of competent in both areas per Benner’s Stages of Clinical Competence.
- BCLS, ACLS, and NRP certification.
- PALS/ENCP certification.
- Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias certification, defibrillator certification.
- 15‑Lead ECG interpretation certification.
- TNCC / ATLS, CTAS course.
- Palliative Care education, emergency nursing, and critical care course preferred.
- Demonstrated appropriate management of delirium in the acute care / post‑acute care setting preferred.
- Working knowledge of Cerner software, computer applications information system, and related peripheral hardware preferred.
- High degree of physical effort.
- High degree of mental effort and analysis.
As per ONA salary scale.
