Clinical Investigation Unit and Osteoporosis Clinics

St. Joseph's Hospital - London, ON

Temporary Full Time

Salary Range: $41.15 - $58.98 /hour

Temporary employment anticipated to extend until December 31, 2026, subject to the availability of work.

St. Joseph's Health Care London's Osteoporosis and Clinical Investigation Unit offer comprehensive patient care for patients living with chronic health conditions. The two programs bring together leading-edge care and research. While our researchers focus on innovation and discovery, our interdisciplinary team of care providers work to support our patients' goals and health care needs, providing a continuum of services to ensure optimal health and quality of life.

The Registered Nurse works closely with the medical team to develop a care plan to support patient’s needs. The Registered Nurse provides care coordination, system navigation, treatment planning and treatment for patients with bone disease and endocrine disorders.

Essential Qualifications

Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

Valid CPR certificate

Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA

Demonstrated knowledge of current evidence-based practice related to osteoporosis and endocrine disorders.

Demonstrated experience in Care Coordination and System Navigation to support patients care closest to their home

Demonstrated experience in inserting IVs

Demonstrated experience in phlebotomy

Skill and expertise in managing infusions

Excellent assessment skills and independent decision‑making skills

Knowledge of adult learning principles and demonstrated experience in the development of teaching materials and the teaching and education of patients (and family/caregivers)

Previous experience dealing with health promotion and preventative medicine

Demonstrated effective communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated expertise in critical thinking and clinical problem‑solving skills

Self-directed, strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload

Ability to work independently as well as on a team

Demonstrated computer experience, particularly with Outlook, computerized patient information systems, Microsoft Office Products, particularly Power Point

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency in French is considered an asset

Teaching and Research

St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties

Immunization Requirements

Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.

Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
