- Order medical diagnostic or clinical tests
- Perform diagnostic tests
- Plan patient care
- Ensure infection control
- Advise patients on health care
- Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures
- Conduct patient interviews, physical assessments and take medical histories
- Inoculate and vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses
- CPR Certificate
- Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner by the province/territory of work Security and safety
