Registered Practical Nurse for Senior Care

Become a vital part of Extendicare's mission as a Registered Practical Nurse. This role focuses on delivering compassionate, coordinated care to seniors across our facilities.

Reporting to the Director of Health and Wellness, you will ensure patient-oriented care by conducting clinical assessments and implementing care plans while adhering to provincial standards. Your direct involvement in medication administration and collaboration with an inter-professional team will foster an enriching experience for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver personalized nursing care in accordance with care plans

• Maintain accurate resident documentation and assessments

• Facilitate and participate in resident care conferences

• Administer treatment and medications safely and effectively

• Supervise and train unregulated care providers as necessary

Requirements:

• Valid Registered Practical Nurse registration

• Experience in long term care and rehabilitation preferred

• Strong written communication and critical thinking skills

• Current First Aid and Basic Cardiac Life Support certification

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools is essential
