Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Emergency nursing mas Elgin General Hospital requires acute assessment skills, critical thinking, and flexibility across all applicable department tours.

As a Registered Nurse, you will establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families while assessing health needs. You will plan, implement, and evaluate care using specialized knowledge, skill, and judgement. The position supports a wide range of patient populations in a changing environment.

• Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families
• Assess patient health needs using specialized nursing knowledge
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Administer medications, including intravenous medications, with physician orders
• Adapt and respond within changing departmental conditions

• Current good-standing registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• BSc in Nursing or equivalent education and experience
• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Acute medical nursing assessment and critical thinking skills
• Basic Outlook, Cerner, and Electronic Patient Record skills
