Acute Pain Clinical Nurse Specialist

Lead acute pain nursing practice at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre through expert assessment, complex case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

This temporary, full-time Clinical Nurse Specialist supports the Surgical Program’s Anesthesia Care Team. The position provides advanced nursing leadership for Acute Pain Service patients, families, and multidisciplinary partners. It also advances standards, quality initiatives, education, and evidence-based practice.

• Manage an independent Acute Pain Service patient caseload
• Coordinate comprehensive care plans with surgical teams and families
• Evaluate and modify plans as patient status changes
• Lead quality assurance, policy, and program development activities
• Conduct research and support evidence-based nursing practice

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing
• Current College of Nurses of Ontario membership in good standing
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
• Five years of current registered nursing clinical practice
• Leadership and complex-case management experience required
