Position: Temporary Parks & Trails Technician Role
Location: St. Thomas

Join the City of St. Thomas as a Parks and Trails Technician. This full-time, temporary position focuses on the upkeep of municipal parks and recreational trails.

As part of the Parks and Recreation Department, you will assist in maintaining high standards for city parks and landscape features. Responsibilities include seasonal trail maintenance, operating specialized equipment, and overseeing training for seasonal staff. Your horticulture expertise will ensure the beautification and safe use of facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections and document trail conditions

• Plan and implement landscaping projects

• Manage maintenance of parks and athletic fields

• Direct and train seasonal workforce effectively

• Keep accurate logs of maintenance work done

Requirements:

• 2-Year College Diploma in Horticulture

• Two years’ experience in horticulture with leadership

• Valid “G” Ontario Driver’s Licence

• Certification in Chainsaw operation preferred

• First Aid/CPR certification required
