The Opportunity
London Poultry, part of Maple Leaf Foods, is offering a 12‑month contract role as FSQA Coordinator. You will spend most of your time on the production floor monitoring Food Safety, GMP, HACCP and other Quality Assurance Program requirements to ensure they are consistently achieved.
With a sense of urgency, you will initiate immediate corrective actions wherever possible and will escalate FSQA concerns as required. You will be comfortable respectfully challenging others in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.
Snapshot of a Day in the Life- Perform and/or assist in daily quality and food safety related decision making based on established processes to ensure products meet the quality standards and food safety requirements of Maple Leaf Foods and its customers.
- Perform daily monitoring and verification tasks as outlined in the HACCP program and recommend corrective actions for deviations.
- Daily GMP monitoring and coaching.
- Provide support and coaching to employees and production management to maintain and improve facility QA practices and procedures.
- Perform microbiological and analytical sampling for product and environment as required.
- Conduct Food Safety Validations, X‑ray, metal detection, laundry etc. as required.
- Perform data entry and data analysis tasks.
- Participate in projects and meetings with the goal of improving food safety and food quality.
- Assist in the implementation of changes that advance QA systems and/or programs.
- Conduct product quality and safety audits and inspections.
- Conduct monthly building and equipment inspections.
- Participate in Daily Quality Sensory Evaluation and Shelf Life Trials.
- Previous experience in a food‑related technical role.
- University degree or college diploma, preferably in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science or a related discipline.
- Understanding of Sanitation, SOPs, HACCP, CCP’s and GMP’s.
- Intermediate system skills, including MS Office.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization, planning, and interpersonal skills.
- Interest and willingness to learn and teach others with a strong attention to detail.

- Base salary between $47,000 – $69,000 CAD annually (target compensation).
