The OpportunityThe Quality Lab Technician is responsible for performing hands-on laboratory testing to support product quality, process and equipment validation, and regulatory compliance in a nitrile glove manufacturing environment. The role executes routine and non-routine testing, ensures accurate data recording, and maintains laboratory equipment and documentation in accordance with quality system requirements. This position supports production, quality investigations, and continuous improvement activities while ensuring compliance with ISO 13485 and applicable regulatory standards.
This is a newly created position to support our operational ramp-up.
What You Will Do- Perform routine and non-routine laboratory testing in accordance with established methods, specifications, and quality standards.
- Prepare samples, execute test methods, and record results accurately following good documentation practices and data integrity requirements.
- Conduct testing related to product quality, including physical and mechanical properties (e.g., tensile strength, elongation, thickness).
- Support in-process and final product testing to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze process deviations, equipment malfunctions, and quality issues affecting glove performance and yield.
- Support structured root cause analysis and define corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving quality, productivity, reliability, and cost.
- Perform periodic process performance checks and validation support testing.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper use, cleanliness of instruments, calibration status and coordinate calibration activities as required.
- Identify, document, report and escal[e] out-of-specification (OOS) results or deviations in accordance with quality procedures. Assist in maintaining laboratory documentation, including test methods, records, and logs.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to support testing needs and process improvements. Support continuous improvement initiatives and laboratory best practices.
May include other related duties as required, provided such duties are reasonable and consistent with the employee’s qualifications and role responsibilities.
What You BringRequired
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a laboratory or Quality Control role, preferably in a regulated industry Experience performing laboratory testing and handling analytical equipment Diploma or degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Technology, or a related scientific field
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in laboratory testing and documentation
- Knowledge of laboratory testing methods and good documentation practices
- Ability to follow SOPs, test methods, and quality procedures
- Basic troubleshooting skills for laboratory equipment and test execution
- Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in English Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Assets
- Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, glove,ISO
13485 or other regulated manufacturing environments. - Experience with mechanical or physical testing (e.g., tensile testing, material properties)
- Additional technical training in laboratory operations or quality systems Training in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or quality systems
