Join the University of Waterloo as a Wetland Research Technician I, focusing on fieldwork and laboratory support in wetland ecology. This full-time role emphasizes innovative data management and environmental monitoring practices.
In this capacity, you will work closely with Dr. Rooney’s team on experiments that demand proficiency in both field and lab environments. You will undertake crucial tasks ranging from sample collection in remote areas to managing lab logistics, addressing any challenges that arise in both settings to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage field surveys and sample processing
• Ensure proper compliance with safety and licensing requirements
• Conduct data entry and inventory management
• Support lab experimentation and maintenance
• Assist in refining data collection methods
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology;
Master's degree an asset
• At least 2 years of fieldwork experience
• Familiarity with various ecological software
• Strong troubleshooting skills for field equipment
• First Aid certification and WHMIS training
