The University of Waterloo seeks a dedicated Wetland Research Technician I for full-time roles in the Faculty of Science. This position will have you engaged in dynamic field and laboratory research critical to wetland ecology.
As part of Dr. Rooney’s team, you will ensure the successful execution of various field experiments, while employing your logistics and analytical skills. From data entry tasks to managing ecological surveys, you will play an essential role in advancing environmental monitoring projects in remote wetlands.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive ecological surveys in wetlands
• Collect and preserve various biological samples
• Ensure equipment functionality and safety
• Manage data entry and quality assurance processes
• Collaborate on data collection improvements
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field
• Minimum of 2 years in wetland fieldwork
• Experience with database management and ecological software
• Knowledge of safety and compliance protocols
• Current WHMIS 2015 and First Aid certification
