Stantec is seeking Field Laborers for archaeological work in Ontario for the 2026 field season, starting from Hamilton. Join a team that's dedicated to quality, safety, and environmental stewardship.
As part of the Archaeology group within Stantec’s Environmental Services team, you will undertake challenging outdoor tasks, supporting Stage 2-4 archaeological fieldwork. Your responsibilities will include site excavation, artifact collection, and surveying while adhering to health and safety policies. This role demands physical endurance and the ability to work in variable weather conditions, often requiring travel throughout Ontario.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute Stage 2-4 archaeological fieldwork as directed
• Collect and document artifacts on-site
• Conduct test pit and pedestrian surveys
• Follow safety protocols and Stantec's HSSE guidelines
• Build collaborative relationships with Indigenous communities
Requirements:
• Relevant experience in outdoor labor is essential
• Must be flexible for travel and overnight work
• Preferred qualifications include a G driver’s license
• Strong team skills and independent driving abilities
• Enthusiasm for learning new skills
