Job Details

Working on assigned shifts, you will act as the first line representative to all staff, customers, and clients. Deter theft and protect retail brands and staff through presence, observation and reporting. Must have exceptional customer service skills, superior communication skills, and be qualified in appearance. Must be willing to stand through the course of the day for extended periods of time for between 8-12 hour shifts days or nights.

Dealing with emergencies, crisis situations, and exercising a high level of professionalism in high stress situations is critical. Conducting periodic foot patrols both indoors and outdoors. Flexibility in commuting to various locations may be required and will be dependent on company requirements. It will be expected that you are able to work Nights, Days, Evenings, weekends, holidays.

• You will be responsible for the protection of people, property, facilities, and information.
• Maintain surveillance of surrounding area and report suspicious activity.
• Perform detailed and diligent patrols.
• Assess disturbances.
• Provide access control as required.
• Provide support in line management and crowd control.
• Observe and report daily activities and irregularities to appropriate personnel.
• Ensure that all safety and emergency procedures are followed.
• Conduct periodic foot patrols of the property/facility as required.

• Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time from 8-12 hours between break periods.
• Must be comfortable working in an indoor/outdoor industrial work environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills while being alert and detail oriented.
• Ability to exercise vigilance and multitask; prioritize, remain calm and multi-task under pressure in a dynamic setting.
• Proficient in using technology.
• Ability to effectively generate all relevant shift reports and distribute them in a timely manner.
• Must be able to speak, read and write in English.

• Security experience preferred.
• Must maintain a valid provincial security guard license.
• Must maintain first aid & CPR certificate.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work all shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be comfortable standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods of time.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors and indoors in an industrial work environment.
• A full G Ontario license is preferred, as part of the job is conducting mobile patrols.
