Join the Marine Society & Sea Cadets as a Safeguarding Officer in London. Engage with youth safeguarding practices and support volunteers through hybrid work flexibility.
This full-time role emphasizes safeguarding children and young adults. We seek a proactive individual with experience in the voluntary sector and a solid understanding of statutory requirements. You will collaborate with our team based in London, guiding volunteers while managing a dedicated safeguarding caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support and coach volunteers on local safeguarding responses
• Manage an allocated safeguarding caseload effectively
• Lead professional for Allegation Management
• Action referrals to statutory agencies across the UK
• Provide continuous improvement in safeguarding practices
Requirements:
• Experience working in youth or community safeguarding
• Strong knowledge of Early Help principles
• Familiarity with statutory safeguarding requirements
• Ability to work flexibly and handle challenges
• Commitment to MSSC’s values of equity and inclusion
