Position: Staff Firmware Engineer, Low-Level Firmware
Location: Southwestern Ontario

Be part of onsemi's embedded firmware team in Waterloo as a Staff Firmware Engineer. Focus on low-level firmware development for advanced power management solutions with a collaborative work culture.

This role demands a strong background in embedded firmware development, where you will work on high-performance sensing solutions and cloud power systems. Your collaboration with various engineering teams will be essential in defining, implementing, and validating firmware architectures. In addition, experience with AI-assisted tools will enhance your contributions to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate across teams for optimal firmware design

• Develop and validate firmware architecture specifications

• Debug and maintain firmware on custom hardware

• Contribute to Agile planning and task updates

• Leverage AI tools for enhanced development processes

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering

• 5+ years of embedded firmware experience

• Proficiency in C with knowledge of assembly

• Experience with microprocessor systems and protocols

• Detail-oriented and able to manage project deadlines
