Senior QA Engineer

• Location: Waterloo, ON | Hybrid, 2 days per week onsite
• Language: English, strong written and verbal communication required
• Duration: 6-month contract
• Compensation: $50 to $55 per hour

Our client, a leading organization in the financial services space, is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality, scalable digital solutions. This role sits at the intersection of quality, performance, and innovation, where your work directly impacts customer‑facing systems and internal platforms.

You will collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and product teams to ensure software is reliable, secure, and built to perform. • You’ll lead the design and execution of test strategies across complex applications and systems
• You’ll guide teams in implementing automation frameworks and integrating testing into development pipelines
• You’ll analyze defects, perform root cause analysis, and recommend solutions to improve quality
• You’ll oversee performance and security testing, ensuring systems meet functional and non‑functional requirements
• You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align on priorities, risks, and delivery timelines

• 6 to 9 years of progressive experience in software quality assurance
• Strong experience with automation tools such as Postman, Cypress, and scripting in JavaScript or Type Script
• Hands‑on experience with API testing, microservices, and distributed systems
• Knowledge of performance testing tools such as jMeter and testing frameworks like xUnit or nUnit
• Experience working in Agile environments with a collaborative, team‑first mindset
• Familiarity with cloud‑based environments and modern development practices
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide teams
