Position: Backend Engineer for Mobile and Web
Location: Southwestern Ontario

Join Sony Interactive Entertainment as a Backend Engineer in Waterloo, ON and help develop new mobile and web experiences for gamers. This role focuses on designing backend services that enhance connectivity and play.

As a key member of our ambitious team, you'll engage in building effective backend infrastructure. You'll collaborate with product managers and client engineers to translate gaming concepts into technical solutions. Your experience in server-side development and knowledge of various databases will directly impact our gaming community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop reliable backend APIs for consumer applications

• Contribute to system architecture and performance monitoring

• Utilize various databases for data modeling and management

• Implement GraphQL and REST for enhanced user experiences

• Collaborate on technical solutions with product teams

Requirements:

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent

• Proficient in Node.js, Type Script, and PostgreSQL

• Familiarity with caching and asynchronous systems

• Experience with AWS or similar cloud services
